A U.S. Capitol Police officer is being hailed as a hero for cleverly steering a mob away from the Senate chambers throughout final week’s riots.
Footage exhibits Officer Eugene Goodman on their lonesome and only a few steps forward of rioters. They’re waving Accomplice flags and shouting at him as they chase him up a flight of stairs contained in the Capitol constructing.
Goodman will be seen covertly trying on the entrance to the Senate, only a few toes away, then he lures the intimidating rioters in the other way, risking his life.

Goodman, a veteran of the U.S Military who served in Iraq, is being praised for his bravery and decisive motion in the course of the harrowing scenario.

Since Wednesday, Members of Congress have been calling for Goodman to be acknowledged with the Congressional Medal of Honor for his work.

U.S Consultant Invoice Pascrell, Jr. tweeted on Sunday: “… this courageous USCP officer stored murderous rioters away from the Senate chamber and saved the lives of these inside. God bless him for his braveness.”
Senator Bob Casey shared that sentiment, writing, “Final Wednesday, I used to be contained in the Senate chamber when Officer Eugene Goodman led an indignant mob away from it at nice private danger. His fast considering and decisive motion that day probably saved lives, and we owe him a debt of gratitude.”
